About

I grew up in rural Ohio and received my BFA in Photography at The School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago in 2001. I was fortunate enough to receive a camera at a young age and looking through the lens inspired me to start exploring the world. I've been capturing images for the past 20+ years and spend my days sifting through images and running around at night.

This website is a small selection of photos based on several ongoing bodies of work. I will continue to update it from time to time. ☕️

First memory of photography?

My earliest memories of photography are of a Kodak Instamatic camera that I inherited from my Mom when I was 10 years old, making my first “camera” out of a cardboard refrigerator box, and turning a laundry room into a darkroom.

Where do you get inspiration?

I’m a synesthete and inspiration comes from a range of different sources. The places I capture evoke familiar emotions for me and as a result, I‘m more comfortable in the new worlds I create than I am in everyday environments.

What story do you tell with your work?

I let a viewer build a narrative based on their personal experiences. We all see the world differently and I know I’ve successfully told a story when my images bring back memories or an emotional connection for the viewer.
